Tommy Herald Jr. Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Tommy Herald, Jr., 60, of Lexington, Indiana passed away Tuesday, April 6, 2021 in Norton Audubon Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky. Born July 31, 1960 in Jackson County, IN, he was the son of the late Tommy Sr. and Billie Irene (Olinger) Herald. Tommy was an honest, hardworking man who retired from Pillsbury/General Mills after 28 years, and was currently employed at Aisin Drivetrain in Crothersville, Indiana. He leaves behind many work friends, both past and current. He was also a graduate of Austin High School class of 1978. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved spending time outdoors. He was a devoted family man spending all his time with his family, especially his grandchildren, which were his pride and joy. He was a big supporter of Kentucky sports and Austin High School athletics, rarely missing a game. Survivors include his loving wife of 41 years, Julia (Gladden) Herald; his children, Ryan (Candace) Herald of Marysville, Indiana and Amy (Jonathan) White of Scottsburg, Indiana; grandchildren Mallory and Wyatt Herald and Avery, Adalynn, and Chesterton White; sister Vanda Sue Herald of Austin, Indiana, Niece, Latisha Herald, Brother-in-law and Sister-in-law Mark & Celia Middleton; Brother-in-law Andy Gladden; Nephews, Craig and James Middleton and many cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral Service: 11:00 am Saturday, April 10, 2021 at Buchanan Funeral Home in Austin, Indiana with Rev. Dave Huey officiating. Visitation will be 4 to 8 pm Friday and after 9 am Saturday at Buchanan Funeral Home. Burial will be at Ivy Hill Cemetery in Underwood, Indiana. Tommy was a very generous man and would appreciate that memorials be given to St. Jude Children's Hospital in care of Buchanan Funeral Home, 115 North Second Street Austin, Indiana 47102.
