Tommy Amburgey Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Tommy Amburgey, 77, of Scottsburg, Indiana passed away at home Saturday, May 28, 2022 with his family by his side. Born May 28, 1945 in Knott County, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Hillard and Lona (Pridemore) Amburgey. Tommy served during the Vietnam War in the U.S. Army where he received two purple hearts and a bronze star. He was a member of the Scott County VFW Post 6582 Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Telitha Bowling Amburgey Daughters, Bonita (Mike) Combs and Teresa (Ernie) Thompson, both of Scottsburg Brother, Albert Amburgey of Austin, Indiana He is also survived by his grandchildren, Tyler (Chelsey), Caleb (Emily), Jacob, Kourtni (Korbin), great-grandchildren, Ellie, Avery, Kali, Brynlee, and one on the way. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Estill, George, John, Hagar, Ben, Phillip, Maxine, Colene, Marlene, and Peggy. Funeral Service: 1:00 pm Saturday, June 4, 2022 at Buchanan Funeral Home in Austin, Indiana with Rev. John Shelton. Visitation will be 11 am to 1 pm Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Scaffold Lick Cemetery in Scottsburg, Indiana.
