Paul Rice, 90, of Austin, Indiana passed away Wednesday, May 25 2022 at Scott Memorial Hospital in Scottsburg, Indiana Born April 16, 1932 in Saul, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Granville and Armilda (Spurlock) Rice. Paul was a retired employee of Childcraft Industries in Salem, Indiana, he was a postal mail carrier on horseback and drove a school bus in Saul, Kentucky. He enjoyed fishing, woodworking, making things such as fiddles, walking sticks, and knife boxes. Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Bessie (Gibson) Rice, their children, Paul G (Jennifer) Rice of Austin, Indiana, Estill (Susie) Rice of Grovertown, Indiana, Esther (Danny) Wade of Scottsburg, Indiana, Verna Joyce (Mike) Harris of Austin, Indiana, grandchildren, Chris (Eddie), Tracy (Matt), Andrew, Tammy (Brandon), Brandon, Eric (Ashley), Bessie Renae (Zach), Michael Paul (Justice), great-grandchildren, Rachel, Hannah, Grace, Easton, Skylar, Kaylynn, Abby, Hunter, Alyvia, Colt, Mason, Brianna, Austin Brock, Coy, and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Robertson, Simon, Clifton, William, Ernest, Curt, L.C., and Herman, sisters, Rose, Ollie, Hannah, and Una May, and Infant daughter, and great-grandbaby Wolfe. Funeral Service: 1:00 pm Saturday, May 28, 2022 at Buchanan Funeral Home in Austin, Indiana with Rev. Johnny Bowling officiating. Visitation will be 4 to 8 pm Friday and after 9 am Saturday at Buchanan Funeral Home. Burial will be at Wesley Chapel Cemetery Austin, Indiana.
