Bert Spicer, 74, of Scottsburg, Indiana passed away Thursday, December 24, 2020 at Scott Memorial Hospital in Scottsburg, Indiana Born January 7, 1946 in Gays Creek, KY, he was the son of the late Virgil Spicer and Susie (Neace) Erickson. Bert owned and operated Spicer's Produce Stand for years and he also served in the Army during the Vietnam War. Survivors include his wife, Kathy Spicer, Scottsburg, Indiana Daughter: Candy Lynn (Tim) Hoard, Scottsburg, Indiana Sons: Justin Scott (Becky) Spicer, Louisville, Kentucky, and Gregory Charles (Candace) Spicer, Scottsburg, Indiana Surviving sisters: America Jane Cravens, Scottsburg, and Jerry Renner, New Albany Grandchildren, Jade Clay, Harmony Spicer, Nathaniel Fox, and a great-grandson, Jaxton Barnett. Preceded in death by sisters: Eugenia Gose; Teresa Trulock, Peggy Spicer; Tina Begley; Sue Holland Funeral Service: 1:00 pm Thursday, December 31, 2020 at Buchanan Funeral Home in Austin, Indiana with graveside at a later date Visitation will be 11 am to 1 pm Thursday at Buchanan Funeral Home Due to the COVID 19 Pandemic and the governor's executive order, face masks are required in the funeral home and we ask that social distancing is observed. The service will be live-streamed on Buchanan Funeral Home's Facebook Page. Memorials can be made to the family to help with funeral expenses.
